The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) is the public broadcaster in South Africa, and provides 19 radio stations (AM/FM) as well as 4 television broadcasts to the general public. Accusations of it being a government and ruling party mouthpiece have often been made against the broadcaster, particularly in the lead-up to the 2014 South African Elections, particularly after it refused to air the campaign adverts of various opposition parties.
