Agri SA is a federation of agricultural organisations. It was established in 1904 as the South African Agricultural Union and it consists of nine provincial and 24 commodity organisations. Agri SA has an affiliated membership and it represents a diverse group of individual farmers regardless of gender, colour or beliefs. About ZZ2 Livestock
ZZ2 is the largest producer of tomatoes in the southern hemisphere. They additionally produce a fair amount of avocados, onions, apples and stone-fruit. ZZ2 is a farming conglomerate operating in Mooketsi, Politsi, Polokwane and Musina in the Limpopo Province. They also have operations in Ceres and Riebeek-Wes in the Western Cape in addition to Langkloof in the Eastern Cape. Tomatoes are the main crop with in the region of 160 000 tonnes being produced annually. ZZ2 is currently a world leader in tomato production and large scale biological farming practices. Natuurboerdery® is the name given by ZZ2 to this agricultural approach. ZZ2 also specializes in commercial cattle ranching and they have been actively involved in stud breeding for the last 47 years. The company was founded by the Van Zyl family and they expanded to one of the largest agricultural companies in South Africa. Under the leadership of the late Mr Bertie van Zyl the first Pinzgauers were imported into the country during the early 60’s. They are also involved in livestock and they have a third share in the Silent Cattle Genetics company. The company has various divisions but all of these divisions are related to the agricultural sector.
